Healthy Celebrations: A Place to Put Your Physical and Mental Health First

Healthy Celebrations is a running club in Athens that has grown tremendously over the past few years. The club meets every Monday morning, Tuesday evening and Thursday morning. Each run will have anywhere from 10 to 75 runners join. The distance the runs cover are anywhere from three to five miles as the group accepts all runners with little or a lot of running experience. Over 40 college campuses have now adopted a Healthy Celebrations on their campus allowing giving a healthy hour to hangout with friends. The club prides themselves in advocating for individuals to recognize the importance of physical and mental health, where running support both.

Healthy Celebrations is a running club that allows for people of Athens to come together and run as a group. The club was founded by a University of Georgia student, Racheal Whittenburg.

The club meets at Fleet Feet three times a week to run together down Milledge Avenue. Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday groups of people gather in front of Fleet Feet before and after a run.

Many people who run with Healthy Celebrations use the time to train for the AthHalf. It is a way that makes training more fun and holds everyone accountable.

Fleet Feet sets out ice cold water on their front porch for runners to enjoy before, during and after their runs. This is a way Fleet Feet supports their customers and sponsors.

Most runners use a smart watch to track their runs. Having a watch allows for runners to track their pace and milage as they run.

Every runner has their specifc type of running shoe that works best for their foot type. Amongst long distance runners, Brooks, Asics and Hokas are extremely popular.
